The specificity of rheumatology covers over two hundred diseases that affect the joints, bones and soft tissues, including the muscles around the joints all over the body.   • Osteoarthritis, which is due to degeneration of the joints.
  • Rheumatoid arthritis and spondyloarthropathies (eg ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis) that cause inflammation in the joints, which, if not controlled, can cause permanent irreversible damage.
  • Systemic diseases of connective tissue, e.g. systemic lupus erythematosus, polymyositis - dermatomyositis and systemic vasculitis, among others.
  • Metabolic diseases such as osteoporosis and gout.
  • And of course the chronic / acute musculoskeletal pain.
